Their parent species, Hibiscus moscheutos, can be found growing naturally in wetlands and along riverbanks throughout North America, making them a valuable addition to the garden.

Summerific® Hibiscus are considered perennial hibiscus, which means they die back to the ground each year and are hardy in zones 4-9. They differ from shrub hibiscus, which are woody plants that bloom on the same structure each year, and tropical hibiscus, which are not frost tolerant and are often used as houseplants.

One of the standout features of Summerific® Hibiscus is their indeterminate blooming, which means they flower along the entire length of the stem, resulting in more flowers and a longer bloom period. With their dinner plate-sized flowers, who wouldn’t want as many blooms as possible?
