We recently asked Isa VanHeukelum
to share her top plant picks. Here’s what she had to say:

Isa VanHeukelum, Sales/Operations Team Member

Verdoni Dwarf Hinoki Falsecypress

A compact, broadly pyramidal version of the species with attractive golden foliage that doesn’t burn in the full sun; dense evergreen.

Crimson King Norway Maple

One of the most cherished purple-leaf landscape trees, holding its foliage color well throughout the season; a dense shade tree best used as a prominent color accent, many consider it the ultimate feature for the front yard.

Mikawa Yatsubusa Japanese maple

This is a lovely dwarf variety that adds visual interest to the garden or walkways; rich green foliage all summer long; striking orange to scarlet fall foliage is captivating and brilliant; best in a sheltered area.

At Last Rose

Stunning bright orange blooms with a lovely fragrance give a constant show all season in the garden or along borders; handsome, glossy foliage and a vigorous, rounded habit; highly disease resistant with no spraying required

Red Baron Japanese Blood grass

Red Baron Japanese Blood Grass’ attractive grassy leaves are white in color. As an added bonus, the foliage turns a gorgeous dark red in the fall. Neither the flowers nor the fruit are ornamentally significant. The dark red stems are very colorful and add to the overall interest of the plant.
