Celebrating Summerific Week with Summerific Hibiscus

There are so many reasons to love Summerific® Hibiscus. These iconic landscape perennials explode massive 8″ wide flowers that are a sight to see when in bloom.

Not only are they visually stunning, but they are also easy to care for in the garden. With just the right amount of sun and water, they can grow up to an inch a day, making them a showstopping addition to any outdoor space.

In addition to their beauty, Summerific® Hibiscus are native perennials that provide important food sources for local bee populations. Their parent species, Hibiscus moscheutos, can be found growing naturally in wetlands and along riverbanks throughout North America, making them a valuable addition to the garden.

Summerific® Hibiscus are considered perennial hibiscus, which means they die back to the ground each year and are hardy in zones 4-9. They differ from shrub hibiscus, which are woody plants that bloom on the same structure each year, and tropical hibiscus, which are not frost tolerant and are often used as houseplants.

One of the standout features of Summerific® Hibiscus is their indeterminate blooming, which means they flower along the entire length of the stem, resulting in more flowers and a longer bloom period. With their dinner plate-sized flowers, who wouldn’t want as many blooms as possible?

To care for Summerific® Hibiscus, make sure to water them consistently, especially if they have been recently transplanted. They prefer full sun and can grow quite large, so be sure to give them plenty of space to thrive. With the right care, these stunning perennials will reward you with a profusion of beautiful flowers.
